“Die Krone” (The Crown Hotel), formerly known as “das Steinerne Huys” (The Stone House), is reputed to be Germany ’s oldest inn. Built in the 14 th century , “The Stone House” is first mentioned in 1707 as an inn and a brewery, and also as a centre for trade and transport in the “Sayn” county.
